Winter in Manitoba can be a long, cold and dark time. But if the rumours are true, Winnipeg is filled with hearty people who actually still live and thrive in winter.
Presented by Real Love Winnipeg and the West End Cultural Centre, Winterruption gives you a great reason to leave the house in the dead of winter. Each January, this multi-venue music and arts festival brings warmth and energy to the city, transforming the West End, West Broadway, and South Osborne into hubs of community and live performance.
Part of a larger family of Western Canadian winter festivals - including Winterruption in Saskatoon and Edmonton - Winterruption Winnipeg is dedicated to celebrating the arts while embracing the season. By sharing talent and ideas across cities, we create a truly unique and collaborative festival experience that showcases both local voices and international acts.
Our goal is inclusivity and accessibility. With programming that spans genres, cultures, ages, and identities, Winterruption is a place where everyone can find something to love. Every event operates under a safe(r) and inclusive space policy, ensuring that artists and audiences alike feel welcome.
Since its launch, Winterruption Winnipeg has grown into one of the city’s most anticipated cultural events of the year. The festival continues to highlight the strength of Winnipeg’s creative community while bringing in artists from across Canada and beyond, offering unforgettable experiences to audiences, partners, and performers.
