Winterruption Winnipeg takes place on Treaty 1 land, the traditional territory of the Anishinebek, Inimiwak, and the homeland of the Red River Metis. The province of Manitoba is also situated within the homelands of the Anishininwak, Dakota, Denesuline, and Inuit. We also offer our thanks to Shoal Lake First Nations 39 & 40 as the source of Winnipeg’s water and the First Nations of Treaty 1, 3, & 5 as the source of Winnipeg’s hydroelectric power.
